How to lead a Child to Christ
1) They must realize they are a sinner.
Jesus came to seek and to save that which is lost. (Luke 19:10) Salvation is only for sinners. They must understand and acknowledge that they do bad things.
Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:”
Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”
2) They must realize that price or penalty for their sins is death and hell
God is a holy God who does not allow sin into heaven. Because Adam sinned we have a sin nature and our sin separates us from God.
Romans 5:12 “Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”
3) Jesus paid the price for our sins with His death on the cross and resurrection from the grave.
They cannot do anything on their own to work or achieve a way to heaven. They can only come to God – His way!
Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God; Not of works, lest any man should boast.
4) They can pray and receive God's Gift of Salvation today
God is waiting and willing. He will receive them now – Just as they are.
II Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
Romans 10:9-10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Pray a Simple Prayer: “Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned. I believe you died for my sins. Forgive my sins, come into my heart, and save my soul.”
